Christmas Home Tour

Part of what I love about Christmas, is decorating my home.  It is definitely a season I am enamored about decorating for.  This year, I tried using just the basics and incorporating a bit more greenery, and some sparkle.  I'll be sad when I have to take it all down..but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

So this year to use a bit more green, I decided on a little project near my front door.  Using branches I picked up at Home Depot (FYI:  always visit the tree cutting area, free branches people!!!)  Using an extra planted pot, I filled her with a plastic bowl, with branches inside, lights and sparkly bulbs.  A little arranging, this super easy and cost effective project looked festive and beautiful near my front door.

For the front door I used a simple burlap bow for the wreath again.

The entry table got some festive bulbs and sleigh bells.
I took a little inspiration from Kristin at The Hunted Interior...
and instead, hung sleigh bells from my table lamp.

A super easy and quick, drop cloth pillow was made in less than 20 minutes.  I'm kicking myself that I didn't think about doing these as Christmas gifts.  I guess there's always next year.

And sitting atop the bookcase, I went all out with the sparkle.
A mirrored tree, mercury candlestick and disco ball.
I love it when the sun shines in and makes the room sparkle.  Disco ball year round?? Yes!

And lastly, our Christmas tree.  After years and years of doing the traditional gold and red...I went blue and silver last year.  On the coffee table, a glass urn with extra bulbs and glittery balls, sit on top of a few books.  And some added contrast with the wooden star and mini-glittered tree.

Our tradition with our tree, is each year the kids get to make or pick out an ornament.  I love that they get to add their own character and personality to the tree.  As my little girl is getting older, it's fun to get out the ornaments and see her face as she remembers the ones from the year prior.

Happy Holidays friends!
Have a very,

Merry Christmas!
