Designer Spotlight: Lindsey Ellis Beatty

Lindsey Ellis Beatty is a regular genius.  Her rooms are playful, fun and livable.  I love how she mixes old and new and brings in fabrics and colors in all the right places.  It didn't surprise me that I had already "pinned" most of her work...the living room below though has to be my absolute fave!

What to do you think?  Is she not a fave of yours now?

Happy Friday!

Gifts for Mom

Mother's Day is a comin'.  And every year it's the same...what the heck do I get the woman who says she wants "nothing".  Well, your guess is as good as mine.  I am supposed to know these things given she's my mother, but the woman makes it impossible to get her something she actually wants.  She will, and always, will be utterly grateful for what we get her...but I want to get her something she will love.  Ugh.  Here's hoping you're all better than I am at this...and well if you're anything like me, you'll be scrambling the day before.  Or even pick something up locally, like at Target (aw, I love that place)...and these fun finds seem pretty well within reach if I can't get my crap together.

Currently Trending: Glass Tables

via

Currently trending now, are the classic and chic glass coffee table.  I have been eyeing them for some time now.  They are beautiful, simple, elegant and (if you have children) kinda scary.  I have been toying with the idea of getting one.  But my fear of these tables always creeps to the forefront of my mind because of the little rascals, who run around and live at my house.  I then proceed to talk myself out of having one because they just don't seem realistic.  Now...take into consideration, my children are 5 and almost 4 and I can't have any more children.  I don't run a daycare or have play dates at my home.  And, I do display fragile pieces in my home....hmm,

So what am I waiting for?

Since rethinking my whole dilemma of glass and children, I've been out looking.

This table I found features simple lines and is more modern, compared to most.  But, as luck would have it...the table I really adore, is acrylic with a glass top and is over $800.  Yeah, maybe in my next life (or house).

But this new nesting coffee table combo from Ikea is well within my price range.  I love the varying height  between the tables and it would still give the illusion of more space in my living area.
