Creative Christmas Stands

I'm on the lookout for a cool new way to stand my Christmas tree up.  In the past, it was a Santa red and green heavy felt skirt, but that was when, for eight years, I decorated my tree in traditional red and gold.  Last year, I took a more refreshing spin on things and decided on silver and turquoise (which I LOVE!)  But my tree skirt just wasn't going to fit the bill.  And frankly, a little past me at this point.

I've seen so many great ideas and wonder if I'll ever decide on one, since it takes me forever to make a decision.  Tree stumps, urns, baskets and even a drum have been used...seriously, what else can we fit a tree into?

I'm torn.

Cozy Love

As we're nearing Thanksgiving...the temp around here is so chill.  I love it!  I wish it were colder than it is (a very sad 70 degrees, around these parts).  Yes, I know...what am I complaining about?...nothing.  But this weather in the middle of November is killn' me.

And while I was at Target today, I took a few laps around their home decor section (okay, maybe a twenty), and was getting all cozy with all the fun, warm, Christmas-y decor they had out.  I think I need me a sweater pillow? Hmm?  I mean, really...cuz I don't have enough pillows as it is.  Pshh.  So here's to all things cozy and sweating out the 60 degree for an hour in the morning.

Inspiration: Unique bookcases for Kids

Today the kids are out of school, which meant I had a small window of opportunity to relish a little bit more sleep this morning.  And like I mentioned in last week's post, I've been trying to give the kids room a little more attention.  Part of which I'm trying to decide on a better way of housing the kids books and toys.  Seriously, there are so many adorable ways of displaying them...

This one is just a drawer with attached legs from Apartment therapy.

And this bookcase has been my favorite for a long time now...although,
I know I could build this sucker myself and save oh, I don't know....$600!

These little guys are just too cute for words...if you don't have a lot of
space to have a bookcase, these little guys will get the job done nicely.

Picture ledges are fun way to go too.  These can be built for less than $10, Ana shows you how here.  And if you're not into building your own, I've seen some even done with spice racks.

This quirky bookcase you can build in less than an hour, using simple crate boxes.
Which you can paint to match any color scheme.

Babble

I love this tree bookcase...although, I think my kids may find it to be like something
more of a jungle gym rather than a bookcase.

And this one was just too cute to pass up, so cute!!
And he's on wheels...helloooo!

I'm sure it will take me forever to decide what I'll actually do in the kids room...for now, I'm just brainstorming.

Any of them strike a fancy with you???
